When the Constitution becomes inconvenient
Imagine if our President decided that a portion of the Constitution no longer applied and decided to disregard it. What would we do? My hope is the Senate and House of Representatives would take the necessary steps to impeach and remove him from office.
This situation is playing out in Honduras. President Zelaya decided to stay after his second term despite their Constitutional term limits. The legislative body and Honduran Supreme Court decided his actions were in violation of their Constitution.
When he did not step down, their military peacefully removed him from office.
This was not a coup. The Honduran Constitution was being protected.
Extreme left wing Marxist dictators, Chavez and Castro have made statements in support of their ousted buddy President Zelaya.
Who is our President supporting? You guessed it. Pres. Obama is supporting Zelaya, a man bent on ignoring the Constitution.
Why would we support a dictator in the making and align ourselves with the likes of Chavez and Castro? Is this what happens when one party is voted into a supermajority?
We need to stand up against Marxism, not embrace it.
